SEVILLE, 10 (EUROPA PRESS)
One hundred Seville residents have been trained since the beginning of this month of October in the new 5G Technologies courses, included in the vocational training program for employment in 5G technologies, launched by the Ministry of Employment, Business and Self-Employment in collaboration with Integra Knowledge. and Innovation and Vodafone. They are joined by more than 70 people who were part of the first two courses held between June and July.
In total, over the next two years, Seville will host 24 specialized training courses for employment in “disruptive” technologies that are in “high demand” from companies such as artificial intelligence (AI), connected devices (IoT), big data, Smart city or virtual and augmented reality for 5G environments, as detailed by the Andalusian government in a press release.
The Delegate of Employment, Business and Self-Employment in Seville, Antonio Agustin, learned first-hand about the characteristics of these training events aimed at acquiring “technological skills” both for access to the labor market and for professional development. During a visit to a group of students currently studying a form of artificial intelligence and big data programming for a 5G environment in Seville, he wanted to emphasize the importance of these courses.
“The III study on the state of digitization of Spanish companies and public administrations shows that about 50% of companies and 55% of public administrations consider 5G to be the appropriate technology for their organization. This is necessary training for adapting to the new requirements of the labor market, which the Department of Employment wants to offer free of charge,” he assured.
Antonio Augustin, who was accompanied by program coordinator and manager of Integra Conocimiento Felix Martin and Javier Belida from Vodafone, encouraged all those interested in this type of training to request pre-registration for the following courses. “The curriculum of these courses is aimed at teaching professionals the skills needed by companies. This is not a specialty for engineers or computer scientists, on the contrary. We are looking for people with a higher education, a bachelor’s degree or a higher degree in professional training and who are interested in acquiring new technological skills and improving their professional prospects,” said an employment delegate in Seville.
Those responsible for the Temporary Union of Companies (UTE), created by Vodafone and Integra Knowledge and Innovation, highlighted the “great reception” caused by this program, which seeks to train Andalusians in the technological knowledge of 5G, a technology that “transforms the world” and allows for exponential development emerging technologies such as artificial intelligence (AI), the Internet of Things (IoT), and virtual and augmented reality.
The program includes three forms of learning: Programming for Connected Devices (IOT) and Smart City Solutions, Programming in Artificial Intelligence and Big Data, and Programming for Virtual Reality and Augmented Reality. Each of these courses offers 45 places for unemployed people who will have the opportunity to train for eight weeks (150 hours) with a blended learning that includes 80% distance learning and 20% personal practical sessions.
However, 30% of vacancies are reserved for busy workers interested in the subject who will be able to acquire new skills and improve their professional prospects. Vocational training, high school or university education is a requirement for access to any of these positions. They will be provided taking into account the time of unemployment of the applicants. Between November and February, four new graduations will take place in Seville, with a total of almost 200 students. Those interested can pre-register on the initiative’s website www.formacionen5g.es
The 5G Training initiative has a budget of €4.8 million to train 3,240 Andalusians over the next two years in a sector that is predicted to require a large number of professionals over the next decade. Vodafone Spain was the telecommunications operator in a joint venture with Integra Knowledge & Innovation chosen by the Ministry of Employment, Business and Training to provide the centers where the program is taught with 5G technology and other necessary technical requirements.
For its part, Integra Knowledge & Innovation, a center accredited by the Department of Employment of the Government of Andalusia, will be responsible for training students in the specializations of study. With the help of its team of professionals, technology and teaching experience, this consulting company will provide the necessary methodology to make the training process of the participants efficient and successful in terms of promotion and new employment opportunities.
