Square (NYSE: ) Enix decides to prepare for NFT Mint
Square Enix has confirmed the change to Arbitrum for Phase 2 of character creation in Symbiogenesis. It aims to make the NFT mining process accessible and more profitable.
The initial coinage on the mainnet (ETH) caused high gas costs.
Arbitrum will help Square Enix solve one of the main problems in the NFT sector: high transaction fees.

The game will release 1,500 NFT characters on Arbitrum on Friday, May 31st.
The three-day process will end on Sunday, and the new non-fungible tokens will be released in small batches.
A massive reduction in transaction fees will potentially improve the user experience by allowing everyone to join the NFT mining process.
Also, lower fees can encourage game adoption and engagement.
While the initial coining of characters took place on the ETH blockchain, other NFT tokens in the game were mined by users on Polygon.
Square Enix has not confirmed whether it will drop Polygon and bid on Arbitrum. User feedback and blockchain performance will likely influence this strategic decision.
Community reaction to the move to Arbitrum remains crucial as it can determine NFT performance.
Square Enix’s move to Arbitrum to lower costs for Symbiogenesis reflects its commitment to providing a first-class user experience.
