Fortnite Festival is about to get even more social, with local co-op mode coming sooner than expected.
Fortnite already supports various co-op modes on different platforms, but there are a few limitations. Players can immerse themselves in split-screen co-op on consoles for modes like Battle Royale, Zero Build and LEGO Fortnite.
Creative Maps also offers cooperative fun, with custom maps like Prop Hunt and Zombienite supporting multiplayer. Unfortunately, PC users and mobile players are left out of the split-screen experience, and co-op play is missing from some PvP modes.
On January 14, Fortnite makes things even better. In a trailer full of surprises, Epic Games showed off a new local co-op mode for Fortnite Festival, and it’s about to change the game.

The trailer features Snoop Dogg, who not only raps, but also eats spaghetti while promoting the new regime.
So what’s in store for players? If you’ve ever jammed with Harmonix’s Rock Band or Guitar Hero, you’re already familiar with the vibe.
This local co-op mode will most likely involve 2-4 split-screen players ready to play together. Expect to pick up tools like an already compatible guitar controller. Epic Games is still holding out on drum and vocals.
Players are ecstatic, applauding the new feature with comments like “This is epic.” and “FINALLY one of the main features of plastic guitar playing”. but some have questions why this game mode won’t come to PC or Switch.
One player complained: “…no computer? I’m pretty sure this mode doesn’t need any additional graphical requirements or having each player log into their accounts unlike BR/lego splitscreen”
However, the excitement doesn’t stop with this upcoming game mode. After Fortnite confirmed that Miku will be headlining the festival season 7, players have been waiting for non-stop content.
