Fortnite Local Multiplayer Festival was officially introduced by Epic Games. The feature will come into effect on January 14, 2025. and allow up to four players to play together from a physical location. At the moment, the new function will be only supported on consoles such as Xbox and PlayStation. It is not yet clear whether the Switch will be able to support this feature. There is also no mention of it being supported on PC.
This is probably because split screen mode, which would be required for the feature to work, cannot be used on PC. It is also not supported on the Switch. It is unclear if this will change after the release of Switch 2. Epic Games will provide an update regarding the same.
The Fortnite Season 7 Yam Stage is officially revealed
In addition to the upcoming feature, the Fortnite Festival Season 7 Jam Stage for Hatsune Miku has also been officially revealed. Considering that the main theme of Chapter 6 of Season 1 is Japan and all things related to it (culture and mythology), the Jam Stage takes a lot of design inspiration from that.
As seen in the trailer, the Jam Stage features shades of blue and purple ambient lighting. The blue could be a direct reference to Hatsune Miku, while the purple could be a reference to the demon portals that are scattered around the island. Chapter 6 Season 1 bosses appear in and around them.
We can expect a high resolution image shared by Epic Games possibly over the weekend. For now, here’s an image shared by a veteran data leaker/miner @HYPEX taken from the official video showcasing the upcoming local multiplayer feature at the Fortnite Festival.
That being said, more information on this should be made official in the next few hours. With the next update (v33.20) scheduled for January 14th, 2025, you won’t have to wait long to get more details on what to expect from Fortnite Festival Season 7.
