Poor PC VR data in Steam’s September survey, with a A drop of 0.32%. which contains the percentage of users who connected the viewer that month, in 1.60%. The decline is not as sharp as that which took place in March of this year, which took the index to 1.38%, only to later recover, but it forces the barrier of 2% to recede again.

VR headsets are coming to Steam in September 2023
In terms of which headsets we use to connect to Steam, the positions do not change. Meta Quest 2 is still the leader from 41.19%, despite a -0.76% drop in September. They were followed by the Valve Index, Oculus Rift S, HTC Vive and the Windows Mixed Reality family, which rose 0.20% to 5.67%.
Interestingly, the Oculus Rift is experiencing the biggest growth, at 0.23%, while the Oculus Quest is down -0.22%. Among the minority headsets (Meta Quest Pro, PICO, DPVR E4, Pimax) we found almost negligible increases or decreases.
When it appears, we will see in the October survey Meta quest 3 as a PC VR reviewer and in whatever capacity, and whether or not that happens, let’s hope that the percentage of total users recovers as it has in other times.
