The Jucara Hydrographic Confederation (CHJ) and Facsa have joined forces to promote savings and improve the environment through the integrated use of water. The purpose of this agreement is to achieve greater efficiency in the actions carried out by both entities, including the use of virtual reality technology, which is used by the water company to raise awareness about water use.
It should be noted that during the first year of this project, both entities committed to six days targeting children and young people in six different municipalities – within the territorial scope of both entities – with the aim of raising awareness among almost 1,000 boys and girls..
The “Together for Water” agreement was signed today at the CHJ headquarters by Miguel Polo, President of CHJ, and Enrique Gimena, President of Facsa, for the next four years. In his speech, Polo emphasized that “there are many things currently being used that are very harmful to water and the environment, and we can only fight them through distribution.” In addition, he emphasized that dissemination in the urban environment and, in particular, environmental education on water “must include not only the importance of saving and the effect that some of our actions can have on the degradation of ecosystems, but also the importance of the integral water cycle. “.
For his part, Gimena stressed that “children and youth are agents of change. Educating them about water and gaining environmental awareness enables them to make informed decisions and advocate for sustainable policies and practices in the future.” Likewise, he explained that this new agreement is part of the actions that Facsa is developing to raise awareness in society and find a way to understand and use water, a vital and scarce resource.
Experience
In particular, the company has been carrying out this type of activity for almost 20 years through various information campaigns, such as holding informative talks in schools, tours of the facilities it manages, or educational projects such as “The Water Course” and “# connecttowater”. .
During the event, Pilar Soria, Facsa’s CSR Director, and Sara Jimenez, CHJ’s Dissemination Project Manager, explained the technical development of the “Together for Water” project, detailing the planned dates and specific goals for each day.
Likewise, after the presentation, the participants, with the help of virtual reality glasses equipped with the innovative surround sound system used by Facsa in their project #Conéctatealagua, were immersed in an incredible journey that allowed them to experience it first-hand, as if it could be found inside of a futuristic capsule, the different phases that make up the integral water cycle.
