Pokemon Go Ice Catch Mastery event: dates and times, bonuses and more

Pokemon Go has revealed information about its Ice Catch Mastery event. Here’s everything you need to know.

In March 2023, Niantic held a Catch Mastery that put Hitmontop, Hitmonlee, and Hitmonchan in the spotlight. With the increased chance of Shiny, players could encounter the aforementioned Pokemon more often in the wild.

This time Pokemon Go focused on Ice Snorunt, Bergmite and Cryogonal type creatures for their Ice Catch Mastery.

According to the official Pokemon Go blog, the event takes place on Saturday, December 9, 2023, from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. local time.

Pokemon Go Ice Catch Mastery Event Field Research Encounters

During the event, there will be tasks focused on the accuracy of throwing Poke Balls. Here are the Pokemon you may encounter while doing Field Research quests:

Pokemon Go Ice Catch Mastery & Timed Research Event Bonuses

• Increased chance to encounter Shiny Cryogonal, Bergmite and Snorunt
• 2× XP for successful catches with good, great and great shots.

The timed research will focus on catching ice-type Pokemon, and completing 10 sets of research tasks will give you a total of 40 cryogonal encounters.
