PlayStation boss Jim Ryan has decided to retire after 30 years. Why did Jim Ryan leave PlayStation?
In an official statement, Sony Interactive Entertainment revealed that the decision was made by Jim Ryan himself, who will lead the company until March 2024. “After 30 years, I have decided to retire from Sony Interactive Entertainment in March 2024. I enjoyed the opportunity to work to my heart’s content at a very special company, working with great people and incredible partners. But I think it’s more and more difficult to combine living in Europe and working in North America,” said Jim Ryan, 63 years old.

Yuichi Haga, the vertical leader of the PlayStation Employee Network, just took to his X account (formerly Twitter) to share a series of photos showing the appreciation party they threw for their CEO. “I couldn’t pass up the opportunity to go to the Jim Ryan Appreciation Party and be around the legends and this unique PS5 in PS1 style,” Haga wrote. After seeing it, thousands of PlayStation fans started asking about it and whether it would be available as a collector’s edition. Unfortunately, it has been confirmed that this will be a one-off console.
As you can see in the pictures, this PS5 is not white, but has the two shades of gray of the PS1. The DualSense controller is also colored like this, even its triangle, circle, cross and square buttons are green, red, blue and pink respectively.
