Known for its epic crossovers, Fortnite remains a cultural touchstone in the gaming community. Epic Games regularly creates fan-favorite collaborations with Marvel superheroes and global music icons. Recently, the spotlight has shifted to Squid Game, a Korean phenomenon that has once again captured the attention of a global audience with its current season.
A recent collaboration between Squid Game and Call of Duty Black Ops 6 made headlines by introducing themed skins and modes to the shooter. However, the reception was lukewarm, with fans criticizing his performance for losing the crispness that distinguishes Squid Game’s deadly charm.
Meanwhile, Fortnite fans are calling on Epic Games to take the opportunity to bring their favorite show to the game. Their enthusiasm is largely fueled by the viral UEFN map, which faithfully recreates the deadly Squid Game, surpassing Call of Duty participation.
Fortnite players are calling on Epic to officially partner with Squid Game
Fortnite players like Char have released an image of the UEFN Octo Game 2 map, which is a recreation of the real show Squid Game in the form of a creative map. What’s shocking, however, is that the number of concurrent players is 63.8K, compared to Call of Duty Black Ops 6, which lost 47% of its players, according to SteamDB.

Char wrote: “The fact that a fan-made map made in Fortnite has more players than the OFFICIAL BO6 co-op is insane. If an official Fortnite x Squid Game collaboration doesn’t come out of this, it will be the biggest miss of all time.”
According to the opinion above, players also called on Epic to introduce an official Squid Game crossover, with one player saying, “They would be much better off working with Epic.” Another chimed in: “Can’t call cod mode good, but one game is $70 and the other is free, which one is likely to have more players?”
A third user commented, “I have a feeling they only chose COD because the show’s dark themes seem to fit the CoD aesthetic better. AOT tried COD first and did much better when Fortnite got it last time I checked.”
While players wait for the Squid Game co-op to arrive in Fortnite, the next update will bring Godzilla and Kong to the island, so check back right here when it’s released.
