Fortnite fans just discovered a major missing feature (and want it back)

Epic Games is constantly developing Fortnite with new content coming out all the time. Epic Games not only regularly adds content to Fortnite, but also tries to maintain freshness and balance by removing content and features over time. Fortnite has a lot going on every week, which explains why so many die-hard fans of the free-to-play battle royale game haven’t even noticed that a major feature has been removed from the game.

It’s safe to assume that the millions of users on the Fortnite Battle Royale Reddit page are some of the most avid fans of the game, or at least some of the most active Fortnite fans. That being said, if they didn’t even notice the absence of some important feature, it’s safe to assume that a lot of casual fans didn’t either.

However, during Chapter 5 of Season 1, Epic Games removed the burning effect from houses, trees, and other structures. Why this was done remains a mystery, as many fans loved the feature and the tactical level it brought to the game. However, many fans missed it and are consequently unhappy about the removal.

One of the main posts on the aforementioned Fortnite Reddit page is a page asking for the feature to be brought back. Suffice to say, many Fortnite fans want Epic Games to bring this feature back. However, the comments show that many fans had no idea it had been removed.

“I didn’t even realize they removed it,” reads one of the top comments. “Wait, since when was that removed? No wonder the Fire Oni mask seems so bad,” another comment read.

A third comment adds: There was a certain satisfaction in firebombing a structure where the player was hiding and watching the damage happen. Definitely don’t miss this feature!”

Unlike returning a gun or item, returning such a large game mechanic is not so easy. As a result, it is unlikely that Epic Games will bring this feature back, and if they do, it will likely be with some changes. However, this is just a guess because Epic Games has not said anything about this feature, why it was removed or when it will be added back.
