Fortnite leaks suggest a chainsaw/jet chainsaw feature is in the works

Based on leaked details, the upcoming feature is called “SpikyBird” and is closely related to the Chainsaw/Ripsaw Launcher. It is not clear what this could be, but it works similarly to this weapon. Since this will be a gameplay feature and not a new element, it’s pretty confusing what Epic Games is working on.

If an educated guess were to be made, we could speculate that this new feature could be part of an upcoming boss. They are known to have very intriguing and silly mechanics at times. Judging by how difficult the bosses of Chapter 6 Season 1 are, Epic Games will likely try to up the ante in the next phase of the storyline.

If it’s not boss-related, a future feature could be some sort of in-game mechanic, or perhaps a vehicle mod. With Epic Games also allegedly working on a Vehicle Royale mode, this thought is also worth noting. However, more information is needed before any conclusions can be drawn regarding this new feature.

When can the chainsaw/jet chainsaw launcher feature be released?

Since both leakers/miners mention that the previous timeline is Chapter 6 Season 2, we have a release window. However, the exact date is still unknown. Epic Games usually adds content to the game after a while.

So, this new feature may not be introduced at the start of Chapter 6, Season 2. With that in mind, it remains to be seen when things will come to fruition. If nothing else, we at least have an idea of what to expect from the next major update (v33.20) for Chapter 6, Season 2. There’s enough content to keep you busy until the new feature goes live next month.
