According to the early patch notes for Fortnite Chapter 6 Season 1 (v33.20 update), the second update is scheduled for January 14, 2025. As this is the first update we’re getting since the start of Winterfest 2024, there’s a lot to look forward to in terms of content. Veteran data leak / data mining @ChinaBR shared a list of potentially upcoming content that we can expect to see added once the update is released.

In addition to the information provided by the individual, we have some official news from Epic Games itself. This applies to the next season of the Fortnite festival, which will feature Hatsune Miku. Hatsune Miku, Fornite Festival Season 7 and Local Multiplayer

Through a few teasers, it has been confirmed that Hatsune Miku will be headlining Fortnite Festival Season 7. She will be replacing Snoop Dogg and taking over the Jam Stage for the duration of the collaboration. The new season of the Festival will start after the downtime for the v33.20 update.

In addition to the launch of Season 7 of the Fortnite Festival, Epic Games will be adding a new feature called “Local Multiplayer”. Up to four players will be able to play Festival simultaneously from one physical location. Compatible plug-in instruments and controllers will work with this new feature. It will be limited to Xbox and PlayStation for now.

After what seems like an eternity, Godzilla’s outfit is finally unlockable in a week. So, Epic Games will add kaiju related content during the upcoming update. Based on a recent teaser, Godzilla can destroy POIs in the game.

King Kong is also planned to be added to the game, but there is no confirmation. It is possible that leaks/miners will gain access to more information during the downtime; but at the moment nothing can be said with absolute certainty.

However, it will be interesting to see how these two kaiju will face each other on the island. This may be reminiscent of The Final Showdown live event where the Mecha battled The Devourer.

Although Winterfest 2024 is over, the snow is not falling on the island. Large parts of the map are still covered in snow and feel white. After the release of the next update, the snow will be removed and the island will return to how it looked before the Winter Festival 2024. Any assets left over from the festive season will be hidden until the next iteration of the same.

In addition to the aforementioned content, @ChinaBR predicts that Fortnite Ballistic may get an update along with the first teaser for OG Season 2. Beyond that, there may be more collaborations to come, but that hasn’t been confirmed yet.
