The Fortnite Festival launches Season 7 on January 14th, and Epic Games has announced that virtual pop sensation Hatsune Miku is leading the charge. As someone who has actively avoided most things Fortnite, I hate to admit that this might have been something that lured me in like a siren song, but it was only a matter of time before it finally hooked me.
Throughout the season, you’ll be able to earn a variety of Hatsune Miku-related rewards with the Music Pass, such as a Miku outfit, themed instruments, and multiple Jam Tracks. Although some of them are closed for a premium paid pass. If you already have this pass unlocked, you’ll immediately receive a Neko Hatsune Miku outfit as a reward and work your way up to the Brite Hatsune Miku Style skin and M@GICAL☆CURE! LOVE ♥ SHOOT! Jam Track is available at the end of the pass.
The skins combined with the appropriate tools you can bring to the stage are enough to justify the 1400 V-Bucks cost for me, which I hate to admit. You can’t ask for more from a collaboration, so everything else just seems like a bonus. Also, each tool comes with a very sweet leek charm that I especially love.
But if you don’t want to pay for the pass upfront, the rewards will likely be available in the store later as well. I’ll be relieved if I don’t jump at the chance to be a monster at the Fortnite festival now, I’ll still have a chance to indulge my Miku obsession later. A number of Hatsune Miku rewards will also be available in the store in case the rewards for the pass aren’t enough. Throughout the season, you’ll be able to get the following:

But Hatsune Miku isn’t the only selling point this season, and v33.20 has some extra features. Four new battle stage modes are added so you can get an extra level of challenge to test your skills with certain tools. Lead Only, Drums Only, Vocals Only, and Bass Only are four game modes designed to allow you to compete against others on a more level playing field rather than being backed by a band, but these modes can also be a great way to practice if you confident only in limited instruments.
Fortnite Festival Season 7 will end on April 8th, so you’ll have plenty of time to practice and perfect your Hatsune Miku Jam tracks and cash in all the Music Pass rewards you can until then. I’m more than willing to accept the fact that this is what will really bring me to Fortnite Festival. I just hope I don’t screw it up the moment I step on stage and be embarrassed to play again after spending everything from my wallet on cute skins.
