They were a legendary accessory and we still remember them with great fondness today. Memory cards appeared in our lives with advent Sony’s first PlayStationbecause it was important to have at least one if we wanted to keep the games flowing.
A few small cartridges, only 120 kilobytes in size, where we stored our achievements in RPGs, platformers, horror and any genre we can imagine. The luckiest had several, as capacity was limited and more drives were needed to store more game files. However, one of the standout features came when we looked inside.

And the icons that represented the data were displayed with pixel art from the game in question. A small gold works of developers that many of us remember with great nostalgia. That’s why the artist VGCartography decided to collect the most memorable of them in the image you see just below.
We have franchises of all colors starting with Final Fantasy from PlayStaton, Chrono Cross, The Legend of Dragoon, Castlevania: Symphony of the Night, Metal Gear Solid, Silent Hill and many more. Some of them only appeared under certain conditions, as in Kojima’s adventures we encountered different faces depending on the ending or difficulty we were playing on.
In Final Fantasy IX we could see Vivi and Steiner but Their icons appeared based on completely random criteria. As you can see, some images from another era that remind us of the hundreds of hours we spent glued to the screen discovering new worlds.
