These are the 2024 PC games I already have on my wishlist

A few days ago, I joked that 2024 would be the year we “spend off our backlog of 2023 games” because at this point, I reckon we all have a nice back catalog of pending accounts: they’ve been non-stop games, each one bigger than the last. That being said, we’re also not out to trick anyone; we are going keep buying games a lot, because that’s what we do, and while we don’t have a lot of confirmed dates yet, at least there’s plenty of games to be excited about in the near future.

2024 expansions

I’m not exaggerating when I tell you that this downloadable content excites me as much or more than many of the 100% new games slated for next year. Accordingly, the new D2 expansion is the last in the game’s first arc; conclusion with a strong emphasis on a campaign that will leave us in unknown territory. It goes without saying that we have full confidence in Shadow of the Erdtree for the simple fact that Miyazaki and the talent under his direction are signed on. We haven’t seen anything about it (just an image with hints of where the story is going), but that’s enough for me. FFXIV is a bit in the same situation: in a way, Yoshi-P and his they never stop improving both with the main tour and the MSQ layout and everything else.

Collecting monsters, but with volleyball instead of fighting. It has a very cute design and more depth than it appears.

Even when FromSoftware takes a break, the likes keep coming. It comes with great graphics, direct from China.

The next MMO with the Amazon Games stamp is the anime aesthetic we’ve been waiting for ages. He comes at the end.

For me it is he the game of 2024. I think the original has remained a misunderstood textbook until now, so to see it back is incredible.

Simply one of the most promising JRPGs on the horizon; as well as the Awakening project closest to us.

Have you played Helldivers 1? no? Well, you don’t know what it’s like to drive into a tank only to have your friend right under it when they drop it.

It didn’t catch my attention until we saw a few short sequences gameplay which activated all my senses at once.

I think the original has aged too badly to be enjoyed today, so this will be my key Chernobyl game.

If you don’t like his aesthetic, I don’t want to talk to you. Look, I’ve been trained in Paper Mario, but this can…

What, is this what you expected? Did it help you even slightly update your own watch list? Not much, I suspect, because most of these games have some experience at fairs and many people know them; but it’s never a bad occasion to remind the world that DD2 is coming back after 11 years with barely a move in the West, or that Granblue Fantasy: Relink exists and isn’t as far away as it seems. The one we’ll have to cross our fingers with is Pragmata, who has already passed some other delaybut if it works this time, it will probably be one of those Japanese things that can turn you into a faithful apostle.

I doubt 2024 will surpass 2023 the number bombings, simply because it is very difficult, but you can see that there is a lot for everyone. If any of these catch your eye, I can tell you that they are already listed on Steam, with the exception of Shadow of the Erdree and Pragmata. I’m crossing my fingers that we’ll see a bit more of both at the Game Awards this December, as well as (hopefully) some announcements as promising as the ones above.
