
The CSIC Geologist of the Institute of Geological Sciences and Academic Academies of Sciences and Doctors of Spain Jesus Martinez Fris is a co -author of a study published in a prestigious Nature magazine, about this unusual scientific milestone.
This discovery was described in detail on September 10, coincided with its scientific publication with the NASA conference to explain everything related to the opening.
On February 18, 2021, NASA Rover landed on Mars, and since then it has conducted numerous studies and analysis of the Cráter Jezero interior, a huge structure in diameter of more than 47 km. In the past, this crater was an old lake, and inside was formed, and there are delta deposits formed when entering water and deposits through one of the main channels, Neretva Vallis. The area that billions of years ago was residential and thus the geological and astrobiological purpose of the first magnitude.
Rover landed in front of the delta and was ascending one of his stocks until you reach Valis’s non -surge. In this place, a very interesting geological formation was found due to its mineralogical, textured and geochemical geochimists, a bright angel and in it a particularly unusual rock, a tea -vasada, from which the sapphire sapphfire, which is different from what was found on the Mars in all missions.
It was in this rock where the study was concentrated and they were motivated by reactions, micronodulatures and various sulfide compositions, moisturizing phosphates, oxides, organic carbon and other mineral phases, which, by assessing different alternatives, indicate their possible connection with the activity. A fragment of this breed, which will be brought to Earth, was chosen in the future Mars’ return mission for a more detailed study and analysis.
Martinez Frias is part of the RVER PERTANCE Mission teams, as well as since its curiosity, since its creation and has already co -authored other very relevant studies, including one that has been covered by the nature of geological science of the temporary existence of liquid water on Mars.
