Ever thought Call Duty needed a year off? You’re certainly not the only one, and it’s more than possible that Activision has reconsidered, but the future is already written and planned. The closest video game to release is Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3, and it looks like they’ll continue to use the franchise even more.
It was Activision President Rob Kostic who noted that the company has several games are scheduled more Call of Duty saga until 2027 “We are constantly in the planning phase, our phase of long-term planning. Now we have games scheduled until 2027 for the things we’re working on,” he comments in an interview with GamesBeat.
The company manager also comments on video games in the future and in the past: “We’ve made a lot of games in the future. maybe we went as far as we could. We have played a few games in the past. Over time, you start to see the best place and what really resonates with the community. You can see that things are similar Modern Warfare and Black Ops franchises are really popular,” he explains.
The fact of entering a certain era determines creativity and flexibility said Call of Duty: “You think about what this narrative allows you to do, whatever time period you’re in. By the way, our fans are very good at defining what Call of Duty is and what it isn’t. I think ultimately, for us, weapons are a very important part of the game,” the Activision boss concludes.
Black Ops is the key to the future of Call of Duty
It’s safe to say that the Black Ops sub-saga will continue to be a part of the next Call of Duty games: “The Black Ops sub-saga is extremely interesting because it secret things that no one knows. There’s a lot of creativity in Black Ops, which is always a lot of fun for developers,” says Kostic. The Activision boss also explains that there are even 3000 developers are working in the shooter franchise.
Finally, as a reminder, Activision will be working on Call of Duty is from 2024 and it will be Black Ops set during the Persian Gulf War, primarily developed by Treyarch. In addition, the company confirmed a few weeks ago that Activision believes that the future of Call of Duty will involve more Modern Warfare games, which is in line with what Rob Kostich said.
