The world of entertainment, especially one that focuses on music and big events, saw the arrival of what could be a revolution in the industry. Sphere, or Sphere in Spanish, is a new spherical stadium located near Las Vegas, Nevada that had its grand opening on September 29th. Covered in LED lights inside and out, the venue presents a completely different visual experience than usual.
Irish rock group U2 opened the sphere with their concert “U2:UV Achtung Baby Live at Sphere”. “It will host a wide range of events, including concerts and residencies by the world’s biggest artists; Sphere Experience with Hollywood’s Leading Creators; and high-end mass events. The company has also announced plans to build another area in London, pending the necessary approvals,” the site’s website says.
In addition to the concerts, The Sphere will also have the immersive “Postcard from Earth” experience on their dates. This experience was realized by the American director Darren Aronofsky, known for the films “Whale”, “Mother!” and Requiem for a Dream. Graham Booth, a producer of nature documentaries, was also involved in the show.

“I see the area as a great opportunity to take people away from the hustle and bustle of the Las Vegas Strip in all its man-made madness and immerse them as fully as possible in the wonder, awe and beauty of the natural world. “‘Postcard from Earth’ is a sci-fi journey deep into our future as our descendants ponder our shared home,” says Academy Award nominee Darren Aronofsky.

The immersive experience A Postcard from Earth premieres at The Sphere on Friday 6 October. From now on, interested people will be able to find tickets every week for $49 to $249. The show, which features robots that talk and interact, promises a sci-fi journey.
