Apple’s new AI server chips are coming this year

Apple just struck a major deal with Google to power future AI features, and now, according to Ming-Chi Kuo, it appears the company is quickly gearing up to mass-produce its own AI server chips.

Internal AI server chips could give Apple new advantages

Ming-Chi Kuo wrote in X’s post:

Apple’s in-house AI server chips are expected to begin mass production in the second half of 2026, and its own data centers are expected to begin construction and operation in 2027, which could mean that Apple is expecting significant growth in demand for AI in devices from 2027.

Apple has been rumored for years to develop its own AI-focused server chips. Now it seems that the new chips will be ready soon.

For all the recent criticism leveled at Apple for its slow AI deployment and software quality, the company’s undisputed current strength is its powerhouse team.

Apple’s silicon is a fundamental part of iPhones, iPads, and Macs that get better every year. And more recently, it allowed Apple to supply its own cellular modems (C1 and C1X) and wireless chip (N1).

Now this successful silicon team has turned to artificial intelligence server chips.

Kuo mentions 2026 for the chips themselves, while 2027 will bring new data centers online.

However, since the chips will be manufactured this year, they are expected to be deployed in existing data centers on a smaller scale.

What do you think about Apple building its own AI server chips? Do you expect it to be a unique advantage for the company? Let us know in the comments.
