In early August, Disney+ hinted that it would follow Netflix’s lead and stop sharing accounts. There’s bad news for users of the service, as the company has confirmed its plans to end the practice from next month.
We know this thanks to a notice that Disney sent to various users of its service, where it informs them of the changes that will take effect on November 1st. Although these measures will initially be implemented in one country, the idea is to extend the plan to more regions during 2024.

Disney+ already has a plan to end shared accounts
The end of shared accounts as such will begin next month in Canada. Disney+ users in this country have been notified that they will not be able to share their subscription outside of their home unless their subscription level allows it.
So all indications are that the company also plans to offer a new subscription tier to allow shared accounts outside of the same household once the measure is implemented.
On the other hand, it warns that it may limit or cancel access to the service of those users who violate the new terms of use. The company is expected to announce changes to its US policy before the end of the year.
Bob Iger, the CEO of Disney, indicated a few weeks ago that they will adjust their policies and implement tactics to increase monetization during 2024. Therefore, it is possible that it will only be a few months before this adjustment is applied in Mexico and other Latin American countries.
As for the possible price hike, there are signs that Disney may take the plunge later this year. However, it is important to note that nothing has been confirmed yet.
