In 2022, we were able to try Ray-Ban Stories, the connected glasses that Meta developed in collaboration with Ray-Ban and focused its bet on the possibility of creating stories with them. Now there’s an update to that model, and it’s doing so with a new name and a departure (slightly) from the original approach.
Ray-Ban Meta smart glasses. No stories, no nothing. Meta preferred to simply call them “smart glasses”. They still have a great design and come in new colors like “matte jeans” and “caramel” in addition to different crystals. The traditional style of Wayfarer glasses is now joined by another called the Headliner, which has a more rounded shape.
Glasses to be used as headphones. This new model has an increased commitment to speakers built into the brackets. They now have 50% more volume and double the bass. They also have directional sound, which improves the experience when taking calls or listening to podcasts outside where there is noise or wind.

Microphones for video recording. This bet on sound is complemented by five microphones distributed over the glasses, which collect the source of the audio while recording a video or talking to someone directly from the place where it is created. This improvement is especially true for another big bet, the Ray-Ban Meta smart glasses.
The best photos and videos. The 12 MP cameras allow you not only to take better pictures, but also to record videos lasting up to 60 seconds in 1080p. Photos can be shared with family and friends directly from the glasses using the voice command “send photo”. About 500 photos and 100 30-second video clips can be stored on the 32 GB of memory built into the glasses.
live broadcast. These cameras also allow you to live stream to Facebook and Instagram directly from the glasses. Commentary on these broadcasts can be heard through an integrated text-to-speech system that allows you to interact with viewers’ suggestions during the broadcast. Whether recording video or live streaming, an LED indicator lets other people know that content is being captured.

voice control. The Meta AI assistant is integrated into these smart glasses, and just say the words “Hey Meta” to get information and control the glasses’ options, such as the aforementioned “send photo”, directly with your voice. This option will, yes, be available in the US at launch, but not in other countries.
The brain of glasses. Ray-Ban Meta smart glasses are powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon AR1 Gen1 processor, which is really capable of handling new pictures, videos and AI assistant. This is a particularly efficient SoC with an average consumption of 1W. According to Meta, the built-in battery allows you to enjoy four to six hours of active use. The glasses case acts as a unique case for the headphones, charging the glasses when they are stored.
Precio. The new Ray-Ban smart glasses will be available in the US, Canada, the UK and several European countries, including Spain, on October 17. The price in our country will be 329 euros, and you can buy them, for example, on the official website of Ray-Ban.
