Technical conference “Talking about the future. Metaverse and technologies 4.0 on which it is supported held by COITT / AEGITT at the Génova Financial Club in Madrid to shed light on this new virtual space, key for entertainment, business or education.
Speakers of the conference spoke through presentations and round tables COITT / AEGITT allowed us to learn how to apply new technological developmentssuch as virtual and augmented reality, allow an increasingly immersive experience within the metaverse. We analyzed in a similar way processes and standards that can make this industrial revolution possible.
The day started with the conference “Breakthrough technological models of the future and telecommunication engineers. Metauniverse”. From the words of v Luis Miguel ChapinAl, Dean of COITT, “The meta-universe is constantly in the digital universe.” For this reason, he pointed out that in order to achieve a better society, it is important that all new technologies are known to society, that it understands them and participates in them. In this sense, he emphasized the importance of the people behind all the infrastructures, applications, developments and solutions, the telecommunications professionals “without whom it would not be possible”, so the need reinforce learning.
Next, the speakers focused on the topic “Special technologies. Virtual and Augmented Reality, Blockchain, IoT, 5G, 3D Imaging.” Representatives of the industry’s leading companies analyzed the trends of these technological developments at the round table “Strategy, Future and Business Models”. Finally, they shared experiences and discussed “use cases” for these technologies.
Through this type of conference COITT-AEGITT aims to bring technology for society, bringing together the agents involved in its development, facilitating dialogue and creating spaces for collaboration. Thus, the event facilitated a forum where the debate on promoting the power of technology and creating the Metaverse experienceemphasizing the need for an ethical approach and a European framework for its development and regulation, as well as the importance of taking into account the opportunities at both the social and economic levels, as well as the challenges associated with the existence of this reality simulation and with the so-called digital twins. A world yet to be created, in which telecommunications technical engineers are on the front lines with the responsibility of engaging other sectors and citizens in the safe and informed use of the metaverse in the near future.
