Epic Games has announced that Godzilla will be part of Fortnite Chapter 6 Season 1. This kaiju has been featured in other Battle Royale games such as Call of Duty. As such, the news of the collaboration was met with great anticipation. Unfortunately, while Godzilla will be a part of this phase of the storyline, no one knows how, where or when the creature will set foot on the island.
This is based on earlier leaks that indicated that Godzilla and King Kong may face off on an island at the end of the storyline. On that note, Epic Games has started dropping hints in this regard. If all goes as expected, we may see the Shining Span (bridge) Named Location in Fortnite Chapter 6 Season 1 torn in half.

Godzilla can break the Shining Span Bridge in Fortnite Chapter 6 Season 1
Not too long ago, the official Fortnite ANZ account posted a teaser for X. The intention was to highlight the said location called Shining Span. This POI is a bridge located on the eastern edge of the island. This allows easy access across the bay in which the named location of Seaport City is located.
It’s not the only way to get to the other side of the island, but given the overall Japanese theme, it fits the setting well. Back to the post, a photo of this POI was posted with a caption that reads:
“What if we met at the top of the Shining Span and held hands? 🥺👉👈”
Given that Epic Games uses internet-friendly language or meme references to engage with its audience, this post doesn’t explain much. However, after @RealLoadAlbumresponded with an image of Godzilla next to the POI and wrote: “What if,” Fortnite ANZ said:
Another user @Oskye_Estivalcommented under the post:
“Until a giant lizard flies in and destroys everything.”
Fortnite ANZ responded by using the side-eye emoji. Considering what this means, it’s highly likely that Epic Games plans to recreate the Godzilla Golden Gate scene in the game.
To add context, y Godzilla (2014)the kaiju swam up to the Golden Gate Bridge and attacked it. After the battle that ensued, the creature broke through the bridge and cut it in half. The same could happen in Chapter 6 Season 1. Fortnite data leak/miner @Loolo_WRLD also shared a message stating that the possibility could happen.
When Godzilla could destroy the Shining Span POI in Fortnite Chapter 6 Season 1?
There’s no timeline, and in fact the entire sequence that can lead to POI destruction is based on hints/teasers. However, with the next update (v33.20) coming on January 14th, 2025, when Godzilla plans to destroy the POI, things will be set in motion once the downtime is over.
The only thing that can be said with apologies is that Fortnite Season 7 will introduce local multiplayer. So, if Godzilla doesn’t rise from the water to destroy POIs and wreak havoc on the island, at least you can play some awesome Jam Tracks with your friends.
