Everything you need to know about the new PS5 with a detachable reader that weighs 18% less

Sony confirms the rumors by announcing the release of the new PlayStation 5, available in two models (reader and digital), which has a smaller and more compact redesign.

Finally, the rumors came true. The PS5 hit stores in November 2020 in two models (digital and reader). After the first year and a half with serious logistical problems, a period of greater success and in-store availability has finally arrived.

PS5 Pro, PS5 Slim, PS5 modular…there are many rumors about a new model of the Sony console, although so far the only thing that has changed is its chassis.

Sony has just announced a new PS5which corresponds to the rumored “modular” console, the main novelty of which is that we can remove the disc from the readeralthough there are more details to comment on.

Christmas is just around the corner and almost three years after the launch of the PS5, Sony has announced a new model (actually two again) of its next-gen console.

At first glance, there are not too many changes, but what is most impressive its smaller and more compact design. This has been one of the PS5’s biggest problems since its initial launch.

The new PS5 stands out your connected Ultra HD Blu-ray Disc player, which can be removed at any time, and will also be sold separately for those who purchase the digital model. It also stands out with its large SSD memory expansion.

Sony confirms it PS5 has reduced its volume by 30%, the model weighs 18% and 24% less (corresponding to the previous digital model and reader).

Let’s move on to another important aspect: the price. It will be launched in November, although no specific date has yet been confirmed. It can be purchased both in stores and on PlayStation Direct.

Once all current stock of PS5 and PS5 Digital (original models) are used up, Sony will replace these consoles with its updated PlayStation 5, as previously reported.
