Break out those plastic guitars because it’s time for a jam session.
Fortnite Festival has been bringing musical magic to Epic Games’ comprehensive platform for over a year now. Throughout this time, the Harmonix team has been gradually adding features to the game, but the latest one should excite music fans. Starting next week, Fortnite Festival on PlayStation and Xbox will feature local multiplayer, allowing family, friends and roommates to play together on the same screen.
Fortnite Festival’s local multiplayer feature will appear as part of the game’s Season 7 content. Up to four PlayStation and Xbox users will be able to join together in a jam session. Players can join with their controllers or approved guitar peripherals. Local multiplayer is currently only planned for consoles, so apologies to PC and mobile users hoping to play the set on their devices.
There aren’t many other details about what Fortnite Season 7 will bring. Such were leaksthat the Fortnite festival team seems to have acknowledged, but nothing concrete. More details are expected in the coming days as local multiplayer is coming to Fortnite Festival January 14, Tuesday.
