Gemini will now allow users to create songs from simple text prompts or based on an image. Google announced that starting today its chat bot artificial intelligence (AI) includes Lyria 3, a music creation model developed by DeepMind.
The new power, according to the official statement, is in the beta phase and is Available to all Gemini subscribers over the age of 18. It also supports multiple languages including English, German, Spanish, French, Hindi, Japanese, Korean and Portuguese.
The ability to create musical pieces using written instructions was already hinted at last January in a report that claimed the feature would work in a similar way to Nano Banana, Google’s image generator, but focused on producing different types of audio.
The company confirmed this information by officially announcing the integration of Lyria 3 into its conversational assistant. “Lyria 3 launches today on the Gemini app for all users and in all languages worldwide, making it easy to create personalized audio,” the tech company said in a statement.
How to create music tracks with Gemini?
Until now, those with a subscription could indirectly create audio through Veo, the company’s AI model capable of creating video from text. With the wizard, developers also gained access to Lyra. However, the current announcement this is the first time that Gemini includes a native specific feature aimed at creating music.
Global distribution will be completed in the coming days. The tool is in the section “Tools”located at the bottom of the dialog in both versions web as on mobile.
By selecting the option “Make music”, The user only has to describe the desired melody in natural language. “Simply describe what you want to hear, like ‘comedy R&B ballad about a sock finding a partner,’ and in seconds Gemini will turn your request into track high quality,” explained the development team.

Google detailed that all audio created with the tool will include a SynthID icon, an invisible and unchangeable watermark that informs the audience of the artificial origin of the material.
The company emphasized that Lyria 3 is designed for creating original compositions. “If your instruction mentions a specific artist, Gemini will take that as a common inspiration and create a track that shares a similar style or mood,” he noted.
