Gemini Deep Research now integrates with Gmail and Google Drive

Google continues to provide Deep researchone of the best features Twinswith very useful advanced features. The tool, which allows you to create complex studies and reports, has just added the ability to use several services of the company, including Gmail in Google Driveas sources.

In this way, Gemini can use the content located in your emails and files in the cloud as context for creating content through Deep Research. This is a significant leap compared to the mod’s previous ability to work with additional content.

Previously, Deep Research could only use web searches and files that users manually attached through the Gemini interface. This option was very limited as the tool was only compatible with images or PDF documents.

Google decided to take the experience to another level. When selecting Deep Research in Gemini, users will see a drop-down menu to select the sources they wish to use. There, they can check (or uncheck) four options: Search, Gmail, Google Drive and Google Chat.

It should be noted that only the “Search” option is activated by default. Those who want to use other context sources for Deep Research will need to enable them manually.

Deep Research is a very interesting utility that allows Gemini to create reports and detailed research on very complex topics. By enabling the option to extract context from Gmail and Google Drive, Mountain View enables a chatbot easy to turn on linked content that is linked to both platforms.

So, for example, if you are preparing a report about a product or service for your work, Gemini Deep Research has the ability to scan your email to get information about that project and apply it. While Google Drive support gives you the ability to interact with files of various formats. This means you’ll get context not only from PDF files stored on your cloud drive, but also from text documents, spreadsheets, and presentations.

Deep Research isn’t the first Gemini-based tool to include integration with Google Drive. In early October, Californians implemented a similar option in NotebookLM, allowing files stored in the cloud to be used as sources when creating AI notebooks.

Support for Gmail, Google Drive, and Google Chat in Deep Research is now available to all Gemini users on the web. From Google, they revealed that this feature will be added to the iPhone and Android chatbot apps in the coming days.
