New HONOR Magic 8 Pro It is now available in Europe. The device, which is part of the high-end line of the Chinese manufacturer, is equipped with a 200-megapixel camera with artificial intelligenceprocessor Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 and an integrated artificial intelligence agent. Its launch marks a new attempt HONOR to gain a foothold in the premium segment of the European market, where it competes with brands such as Samsung, Apple and Xiaomi.
According to the company, Art HONOR Magic 8 Pro bets on a visualization system based on artificial intelligence, called AiMAGEwhich combines advanced computational optics with deep learning algorithms. A 200MP telephoto lens with a 1/1.4-inch sensor and f/2.6 aperture is complemented by a 50MP primary camera and a 50MP ultra-wide-angle camera. The kit aims to improve night shooting and lossless zooming, while the AI Adaptive Stabilization system promises up to seven times improvement in sharp images without a tripod.
A color processor works in parallel Magic color allows you to apply cinematic styles and perform automatic scoring from reference images. This feature, which relies on collaboration between the device and the cloud, aims to facilitate professional editing from the terminal itself. The AI button, an additional physical key, allows you to activate functions such as AI Lastik o II expression without having to unlock the phone.
In addition to photography, Magic 8 Pro includes an artificial intelligence agent that runs natively on MagicOS 10. This system interprets the context of use, automatically adjusts settings, and offers voice or text responses. It also includes security tools such as deep spoof detection and voice cloning aimed at protecting real-time communication. Google Gemini integration, available pre-installed, extends the conversational capabilities of the device and enables live translation or real-time visual recognition.
In terms of performance, the Magic 8 Pro is based on the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 platform, which improves both processing power and energy efficiency compared to its predecessor. A silicon carbon battery with a capacity of 6270 mAh, together with wired fast charging of 100 W and wireless fast charging of 80 W, aims to guarantee autonomy throughout the day. The 6.71-inch LTPO OLED display with a maximum brightness of up to 6000 nits in HDR includes eye comfort technologies such as 4320 Hz PWM dimming and circadian modes.
The MagicOS 10 operating system introduces a translucent interface and a more tactile interaction with light and sound effects that respond to use. It also improves interoperability between devices with HONOR Share, which now enables two-way transfer between Android, iOS, macOS and Windows. The device cloning feature lets you transfer data from iPhones, including photos, notes, and reminders, with end-to-end encryption.
The device is sold in three colors (Sunrise Gold, Sky Cyan and Black) at a price of 1,299 euros. As part of the launch, HONOR is offering a promotional package that includes the HONOR Pad 10 Tablet with Keyboard, HONOR CHOICE Pencil, Watch 5, Earbuds Clip and 100W charger. The total value of the package, according to the brand, is 806.8 euros.
Although HONOR has maintained an increasing presence in the Spanish market since its relaunch in 2021, the premium segment is still dominated by brands with a larger market share. A commitment to computational photography and integrated AI might set the Magic 8 Pro apart, but it also raises questions about the actual adoption of these features by the average user. Gemini’s integration and commitment to local AI point to a hardware-software convergence that is still maturing.
The availability of the device and its ecosystem of accessories reinforces HONOR’s strategy of creating an integrated experience, although competition in this field is becoming more intense. The evolution of the European market reaction in the coming months will be key to measuring the impact of this launch.
