Octopath Traveler is available on all platforms
Square Enix is in the midst of a change, as recently announced The financial results of the company were not goodespecially after high-end games like Final Fantasy XVI and Final Fantasy VII Rebirth were launched exclusively for the PS5, resulting in lower sales, which will lead the company to manage triple-A releases differently, which will be more prone to reach all possible consoles.
In this sense, it seems that the first step has been taken launching the entire Kingdom Hearts saga on PC, arriving next June 13. Before that happens, though, we got to see just how amazing it is Two parts of Octopath Traveler were released on PlayStation and Xbox in a very interesting way, as the former was missing on Sony’s console and the latter lacked its own version on Xbox.
The entire Octopath Traveler saga is now available to watch on any console
In this sense, we already knew that Octopath Traveler II was in development for Xbox since last year, and Square Enix announced that the title will be available on Microsoft’s console sometime in 2024.
And it seems that it was, although they did it with everything they had, although, yes, without much ado, as it was confirmed in the last few hours that The first game was released on the Playstation Store for PS4 and PS5and the other did so on Xbox One, Xbox Series, and Xbox Game Pass.
So now all owners of any console can access the complete Octopath Traveler saga, as to date only the Nintendo Switch and PC have had native versions of the first and second installments. We will have to see the commercial performance of these games as Square Enix is looking to increase sales. Otherwise, keep in mind Octopath Traveler has already sold 3 million copiesand the other reached one million last June.
