This time we bring you more rumors to keep fans interested Square Enix. They are focused on more games besides the return of the ninth part of the series, such as Final Fantasy IX Remake.
They are related to earlier rumors. The original hearing which It has already been circulating for a few days in connection with the new version of the title, gained traction a few weeks ago thanks to Giant Bomb’s Jeff Grubb, a well-known insider who has been right about information in the past. After the fourth rumor, a popular leak Midori supported rumors of a Final Fantasy IX remake, but ruled out X. Yesterday, he spoke again about Square enix games adding a few more details and today we have more information. Here’s what he posted on X (Twitter):
- Dragon Quest HD-2D and Octopath Traveler aren’t the only new titles that The Asano team is currently under development.
- The Asano team is developing another title. This title is a continuation of the previous title.
- This information was not officially announced.
- He claims that he is not saying that Team Asano is currently developing Octopath Traveler 3, but that he is referring to “ports for more platforms.”

Given that Square Enix plans to focus on multi-platform releases in the future, it’s likely that we might see this for the Nintendo Switch 2. However, we’ll have to stay tuned for more details.
