The first session of a pilot project launched this Tuesday by the SAE Andalusian Employment Service uses state-of-the-art virtual reality glasses to applicants improve their personal skills in finding a job and accessing the labor market with greater guarantees.
This is a pioneering action in terms of recruitment and selection of personnel, which will take place during the last week of September. through four sessions scheduled at SAE Provincial Headquarters, on Manuel Surot Avenue, 4 in the capital, and with the expected participation of 240 unemployed people. This is a gamification program in the field of career guidance, which through state-of-the-art virtual reality glasses withsimulates different dynamics to train personal skills and exposes people to situations they may encounter in the job search process.
In this training, each user is equipped with state-of-the-art virtual reality glasses with a gaming environment and works in collaborative teams of up to six people who will participate in 30-minute games. They are designed in five so-called “learning capsules” so that participants can put their skills and knowledge into practice in an environment that reproduces real situations in the virtual world.
The territorial delegate for employment, business and self-employment, Juan Carlos Duarte, who was present at the inauguration, emphasizes “the novelty and usefulness of this different and very practical activity, for which it is not necessary to fulfill any requirements, just fun to try through virtual reality communication skills, teamwork, creativity, critical thinking and decision-making, which are characteristics that guarantee a better approach to the labor market.’ In addition, during the training sessions, participants are assisted by professionals who provide guidance tailored to each participant’s profile to get the most out of their personal and professional skills.
Five “capsules” or speakers
Dynamic 1 – from toself-assessment of end-to-end skills, in which the user discovers his level of end-to-end skills by taking a self-assessment test. In dynamic 2, no Speak to your strengthsthe participant has the opportunity to share a brief information about himself and his value proposition to get the job.
Dynamic 3 about communication and public speaking, and in this case it is about presenting to an audience and speaking to a large audience. This is a pioneering experience the result of one of the first projects implemented by the Management Center, Entrepreneurship, Support and Innovation for Employment, COE integrated in the Andalusian Employment Service. At the same time, it is part of the National Network of Community Centers for Orientation, Entrepreneurship and Innovation for Employment.
SAE Modernization: An Integrated Management Model
Juan Carlos Duarte called the COE “part of SAE’s overall strategy and projects resulting from the annual work plan will be essential in developing new models of action that can be transferred to the rest of the organization in the context of the Integrated Management Model being implemented in SAE, adding that “The challenge is to transform the regional public employment service to a dynamic, efficient administration that promotes employment.”
