Samsung Unveils ‘Your Artificial Intelligence Life Companion’ at CES 2026 • Central America and the Caribbean Digital Newspaper

Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd. presented its vision for a “Companion to AI Living” at The First Look, a CES® 2026 event held in the Latour Ballroom at Wynn Las Vegas. The event was dedicated to artificial intelligence as Samsung’s philosophy, the foundation that connects the company’s product development in research and development, operations and user experience.

TM Roh, CEO and Head of Samsung Device eXperience (DX), opened The First Look by outlining the company’s leadership in artificial intelligence and how, through its extensive connected and AI-enabled ecosystem, Samsung can provide users with truly enhanced AI experiences in their everyday lives. This approach empowers users to access more than just the basics of their technology, but instead empowers them to find more meaningful moments throughout.

“Samsung is creating a more unified and personalized experience for mobile devices, visual displays, appliances and services,” said CEO TM Roh. “Through our global connected ecosystem and AI integration across categories, Samsung is leading the way in creating more meaningful everyday AI experiences.”

The entertainment companion: Extending the experience beyond simple viewing

SW Yong, President and Head of Visual Displays (VD) Samsung Electronics, and Sukhmani Mohta, Director of Marketing and Partnerships VD Business Samsung Electronics America, took the floor to describe how Samsung displays combine advanced hardware with visual intelligence to become a true entertainment companion. With twenty years of experience in the TV industry, Samsung has created a complete line of AI TVs that offer a whole new way for users to interact with their TV.

The centerpiece of the display lineup is the 130-inch Micro RGB, which represents a monumental leap in scale and image quality. The 130-inch Micro RGB ushers in a new era of color, featuring the widest and most detailed spectrum ever seen on a Samsung TV, while its Timeless Frame design minimizes distractions and allows the image to take center stage with understated elegance.

To take this viewing experience to the next level, the Vision AI Companion (VAC) uses artificial intelligence technology to work alongside users as a complete entertainment companion to enhance viewing, eating and mood anywhere in the home.

Samsung also offers intuitive modes to personalize your viewing experience. For soccer fans, AI Soccer Mode Pro offers a more immersive gaming experience thanks to stadium-quality picture and sound adjustments using artificial intelligence. AI Sound Controller Pro allows you to increase or decrease the volume of the audience, commentary or background music, providing a personalized listening experience for TV shows and movies. Users simply make their requests verbally, and any TV with VAC (including Micro LED, Micro RGB, OLED, Neo QLED, Mini LED and UHD TVs) will fulfill them depending on the context.

Samsung has been the leader in the global soundbar market for 11 years in a row. This year, it introduces two new WiFi speakers, the Music Studio 5 and 7, to further expand its integrated ecosystem. These models support a wider range of sound system combinations, enhancing the audio-visual quality and enhancing the aesthetics of any space.

Samsung has also introduced a series of new products that blend beautifully with users’ homes and aesthetics. The new ultra-slim S95H OLED has a bezel that gives it an art gallery elegance, while Samsung’s new portable projector, The Freestyle+, is powered by VAC and allows users to view content on walls and ceilings, as well as uneven surfaces such as corners and curtains.

Today, Samsung also introduced its most advanced line of Odyssey gaming monitors, with five new models that push the boundaries of resolution, refresh rates and immersive visual performance. Led by Samsung’s first Odyssey G9 3D 6K, the 2026 lineup debuts world-first display technologies for gamers and creators, including the next-generation Odyssey G6 and three new Odyssey G8 models.

Home companion: smart connected appliances to guide you through the day

Chelgi Kim, Executive Vice President and Head of Digital Appliances (DA) at Samsung Electronics, and Elizabeth Anderson, Head of Integrated Marketing DA at Samsung Electronics America (SEA), outlined Samsung’s vision to evolve from providing home appliances to true home companions that work to take the stress out of everyday tasks. Chelgi Kim also announced that SmartThings will already serve more than 430 million users as of December 2025, giving Samsung significant scale and depth of knowledge that sets it apart from other brands.

This knowledge comes to life with Family Hub. The AI-enabled refrigerator is the centerpiece of the home, and now, with an update to AI Vision integrated with Google Gemini, it’s redefining life for the future of AI. With this update, AI Vision removes the existing limitations of food recognition by seamlessly tracking what is put in and taken out of the fridge, making meal planning and food management easier than ever. Family Hub has won 10 CES Innovation Awards to date, and Samsung’s AI-enabled refrigerators have won the award in the past three years.

Samsung also introduced FoodNote, a new weekly report that summarizes users’ food consumption patterns, from the most frequently used ingredients and recipe recommendations to which foods it’s time to refill. In addition, Now Brief includes more widgets on the Family Hub screen and, with Voice ID, can distinguish between family members and display content that is relevant to each person. Ultimately, these features combine to provide a variety of insights and useful information throughout the week.

At the Bespoke Laundry, the AI Laundry Combo eliminates the need to carry loads of laundry, solving a big problem for households. This year’s model comes with improved features such as a faster Super Speed cycle and optimized drying performance. Also, Samsung’s new Bespoke AI AirDresser is here to solve another common problem with your clothes. It has an Auto Wrinkle Care feature that launches powerful jets of air and steam to smooth out shirts. All users have to do is hang their shirt and wait, reducing the stress on busy mornings.

At home, the Bespoke AI Jet Bot Steam Ultra powered by a Qualcomm Dragonwing™ processor has an active stereo 3D sensor to recognize liquids like coffee, juice or even clear liquids like water. While the camera helps with navigation, it also allows the robot vacuum to act as a monitoring device when users are out and about, alerting them of their pets and any suspicious activity.

The Care Partner: Moving from Reactive to Proactive Care

Finally, Praveen Raja, vice president and head of digital health at Samsung Research America (SRA), presented Samsung’s long-term vision for smart care, powered by Samsung’s ecosystem of integrated devices, reimagining care from a reactive need to a proactive opportunity. Thanks to artificial intelligence, phones, home appliances, wearables and other connected devices will help users prevent potential health problems before they occur.

Recognizing the importance of preventative health, Samsung is also expanding its capabilities in dementia detection through research collaborations using wearable devices that capture subtle changes in mobility, speech and interaction that can indicate long-term cognitive changes.
