Square Enix announces the closure of two of its mobile games
Square Enix doesn’t seem like a good fit for the mobile sector, given that these aren’t the first titles to shut down quickly.

We are generally the outsiders in this market, but when we talk about generating revenue, we are first and foremost We have to turn to mobile games.. Not only is it usually less expensive to develop, we are talking about a platform that has a large part of the population, which means more users and therefore more revenue. Many companies that decide to enter this part of the sector are well aware of this, but it must be understood that this does not mean that it is infallible. Every now and then we hear about some mobile titles shutting down their servers for good, and in this particular case we have to talk about Square Enix.

In particular, we refer to Engage Kill, which will shut down its servers on March 21stin Fullmetal Alchemist Mobile (based on one of the best anime ever) which will do it on March 29. So, in a little over a week, two mobile games that had a lot of promise and even a lot of downloads, but that didn’t seem to live up to Square Enix’s expectations, will be shut down.

Unfortunately, this isn’t a one-off, and Square Enix has been trying to break into the mobile gaming space for a while, even with battle royale games like Final Fantasy VII: The First Soldier, a game that It also had to be shut down shortly after entering the market..

Square Enix does not find the key in mobile games

As we have already mentioned, Square Enix does not seem to know how to find the key to success in the mobile market, despite the fact that it is usually the most profitable in our sector. Despite this, it has great success on consoles and PC, such as the recent Final Fantasy XVI, being one of the most important companies when it comes to RPGs.

However, in this particular area, they rarely seem to make the game work enough to stay in the market of course, there are exceptions. In this sense, we can talk about the recent Final Fantasy VII Ever Crisis, which seems to have worked, although, as always, the best we can do is to be careful in this regard.
