Baidu’s securities were sold for 13 million S/S in one dayby almost ten times the amount of transactions multiplied by the value of the third-placed stock, nuam (which registered S/3.7 million).

Therefore, Baidu shares rose 18.9% to close at US$149.5 on the Lima market on Friday.

According to Investopedia, Baidu is the leading search engine in China, dominating 56% of this market.
The company’s shares rose 15.03% to close at $150.3 in New York on Friday.after it emerged that the Chinese firm had requested the spin-off of its Kunlunxin AI chip unit to be listed separately from Baidu.
A source at the brokerage said Baidu’s decision “increases investor appetite for AI challenges in the markets.”
“(The movement seen in BVL) will demonstrate, to some degree, that it is part of a niche of investors looking for exposure to this type of action from Peru.”– he noted.
“This movement in Baidu on BVL is a clear sign that there are Peruvian investors, especially the more sophisticated ones, who are actively following international stocks.s, even from markets like China,” said Jorge Ramos, Fibra Prime’s Chief Capital Markets and Investor Relations Officer.
Analysts consulted also agreed that retail investors traded Baidu on Friday at BVL.
The news from Baidu comes after the company reported an overall year-over-year decline in revenue at the end of the third quarter of 2025, but with an increase in its AI division.
