A secret space vehicle of the US Army, designed to remain in orbit for several hundred days, was successfully launched on Thursday evening (21.08.2025) in the Falcon 9 Spacex missile.

A shot from the Kaba -Kanaver Base, in Florida, took place on the premises of 23-50, reports images that were broadcast live by the multimillionaire Elon Musk.

The X-37B space aircraft was developed by the United Start Alliance, a subsidiary of Boeing.

Mission OTV-8: Quantum technology in space

The US Space force reported that its OTV-8 mission will conduct various tests, including laser ties and the most advanced quantum sensor tested in space, although the duration of the mission has not been shown.

“These operational demonstrations and experiments include the next generation technology, including laser communication and the most developed quantum inertia sensor, which is tested in space,” the statement of this military section said last month.

“Mission 8 will contribute to increased sustainability, efficiency and safety of space -based architecture,” head.

Alternative Navigation GPS for military missions

According to Boeing’s statement, The US Space force, along with the Air Force Fast Power Management, conducts more performance testing in the orbit of an inertia quantum sensor, if you are tested in space.

The device promises to offer accurate positioning and navigation in the GPS environment, a key tank when satellites are attacked or not used by space waste.

“Inertial detection of quantum detection allows for reliable navigation beyond the ground orbit or in scripts without GPS,” said Colonel Ramzi Hom, Commander Space Delta 9.

With the size similar to a small tire, the X-37b looks like a reduced version of space ferries that were removed in 2011.

In previous missions, the drone conducted evidence for the US Space Agency NASA.

Artifact nine meters long and about 4.5 meters between its wings.
