The studio behind indie hits like Jotun, Sundered and Spiritfarer unveiled 33 Immortals as its first multiplayer game back in 2023. The ambitious 33-player co-op actioner has been testing on Xbox platforms for some time now, and the Studio will soon launch its third pre-release event.
However, in addition to Xbox Insiders, this time Epic Games Store players will be able to jump in for the first time. Crossplay between platforms will also be included.
The final playtest will run for 10 days, starting on January 28th at 10:00am EST and ending on February 6th. “We’ve been working really hard on updating and stabilizing the game, so we’re excited to hear what you have to say about 33 Immortals,” the studio says of the upcoming test.
This time, the number of places is not limited, which means that throughout the event, anyone can join a team of 33 players to test their skills in defeating the cruel god. Keep in mind that progress made in these playtests will not be saved for future tests or the full game.
The 33 Immortals playtest will be available to Xbox Insiders (PC and console) on the Xbox Insider Hub, as well as those logging in from the Epic Games Store, starting January 28th.
Some of the highlights of the latest changes in this build:
First time user experience:
- A new cutscene has been added to welcome players to the game.
- The dialog was set up.
- Added new dialog.
- New compendium entries have been added with an updated interface.
Other:
- Relics can now be changed in the Relic Inventory.
- Metacurrency amounts (Eternal Shards, Paragons, Stardust) will now be displayed when collected during a run.
- Decreased player’s revival rate in soul form.
- Players will now heal by % HP instead of a fixed number when using Bone Shrines.
- The difficulty of Inferno Wrath of God phases has been adjusted to allow them to scale in later maps.
The rather lengthy full patch notes for this playtest can be found here.

After a recent delay, 33 Immortals will now be released sometime in 2025. The game will first appear in early access, followed by version 1.0 on Windows PC and Xbox Series X|S platforms.
