Analyst says Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth is not selling well

Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth has received huge critical acclaim since its release earlier this year, however, despite In accordance with industry analyst Daniel AhmadFinal Fantasy 7 Rebirth is underperforming in terms of sales compared to Square Enix’s expectations.

Ahmad, citing market research and sales tracking data, pointed to X Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth selling roughly half the units of its predecessor, Final Fantasy 7 Remake, in the same time period after release. Although Square Enix has not released specific sales numbers, this information suggests that the game may not meet the company’s sales goals, raising concerns about its long-term market performance.

Although Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth was the second best-selling game in the US in February behind Helldivers 2, it got off to a slower start in Japan. Initial sales figures in Japan indicate that the game did not match the sales of previous installments in the main Final Fantasy line, such as Final Fantasy 16 and Final Fantasy 7 Remake. Although Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth sold over 262,000 units at launch in Japan, it fell short of the numbers achieved by its predecessors, indicating that Square Enix may not be able to maintain the game’s sales momentum.

Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth exemplifies the difficulty of balancing critical acclaim and commercial success.
