Takeo Kujiraokadirector of DLC with Final Fantasy XVI titled A rising tidestated in a recent interview that the game expanded the franchise’s audience.
In an interview with Push Square, Kujiraoka emphasized that over the years the franchise has become known for its older audience that has grown up with the franchise, and Final Fantasy XVI was responsible for introducing a series of games to a younger audience.

“In recent years, players of the Final Fantasy series have tended to be of an older age group,” he said. “However, this time around, the survey results show that more people under the age of 20 are playing Final Fantasy XVI.”
“I think this goes a long way toward achieving one of our original goals, which is to have players of all ages play the last Final Fantasy game.”
He specified: “This does not mean that all future Final Fantasy games will follow the same direction as Final Fantasy XVI, but I think it means that we were able to attract new players and open up new opportunities for the development teams working on future installments . in the series”.
