Suddenly, Apple Music was integrated into ChatGPT. And with that, a opportunity horizon I will not say that it is infinite, but it is so. Especially when you need to discover new songs or memorize one. Even if we don’t know its name and maybe don’t even know the lyrics.
Let it be in the ChatGPT app on your iPhone or online (very useful if we use a Mac), we can ask the artificial intelligence to play us songs in Apple Music, since its player will be integrated. Although, as I said, the question goes beyond “play X song”.
How to add Apple Music to ChatGPT
Apple Music is not integrated into ChatGPT by default, but you have to do it manually. It’s a very simple process though you will need to subscribe to Apple Music. ChatGPT is not needed as it also works in the free version.

Add Apple Music from the ChatGPT app

- Open the ChatGPT app on your iPhone and make sure you’re signed in to your account.
- Open the drop-down menu (by clicking in the upper left corner).
- Click on your account at the bottom of the menu.
- Go to section Applications.
- Click on Explore the programs.

- Search Apple Music and select it.
- Click on Connect and then Connect Apple Music.
- Sign in to your Apple Music account.
- Dale A Continue and wait for the account to be linked.

The best use of this integration
Once you connect Apple Music to ChatGPT, you can request literally anything related to music. Of course you have to open a new chat first, press the button + and choose Apple Music.
In my case, I tried a few queries, I think you may also find them useful:

- Find a song knowing only the lyrics or part thereof. While this is imprecise, ChatGPT usually finds it.
- Find similar songs to a certain one, be it by beat, genre or the artist who sings it.
- Find songs for a certain momentfor example, an upbeat song if it’s for a party, a sad song if you’re feeling nostalgic, or a relaxed song if you want it as background music while studying or working.
Responses are not instantaneous, and it may take a few seconds to connect to Apple Music
- Find the songs that made a huge impact a long time agoperfect for finding great titles from decades past that we may not even have been born into.
- Know information about an artist, song or album. For example, who is the producer and composer or the interests and meaning of the song.
- Create comprehensive lists with the instructions you want. From combining multiple songs of the same genre to a list with only songs from a specific year or artist. Up to one button is offered Create a playlist in Apple Music.
Obviously, there are more of them. As I said at the beginning, the possibilities are practically endless. Of course, it also has some drawbacks, such as, in fact, it does not provide anything that was not already available in the giant database of ChatGPT. The advantage is that it allows you to go directly to the Apple Music app.
I found it too difficulty finding smaller artists and their songs. Something, however, does not seem to be so problematic in Apple Music, where there is usually a playlist of new artists.
I wish something like this was integrated into Apple Music
I really appreciate the progress. ChatGPT can already do everything in terms of finding songs, but by integrating Apple Music, you can also play them from the app itself without having to go into the Apple app later. But backward integration would seem better to me.

I don’t care if it uses ChatGPT itself, Gemini models like the ones they’re going to integrate with Siri, or any other artificial intelligence Apple has developed. Despite the positive evaluation of the integration of Apple Music in ChatGPT, I firmly believe that the reverse process, integrate artificial intelligence into Apple Mcustomwould be more convenient and comfortable for users.
It’s great to find songs directly from ChatGPT and take us to Apple Music, but in the end it’s done in an interface isolated from Apple’s native interface. Powering the search engine of this platform with artificial intelligence is something that I think could be much more useful because naturally Apple Music is where we go to listen to music.
