Moscow. One of the largest asteroids of the year will spend this Thursday near Earth, at a distance, slightly larger than the diameter of the moon’s orbit, the Laboratory of Sunny Astronomy of the Institute of Space Research of the Russian Academy of Sciences warned on Wednesday.
“One of the largest asteroids of the year, 2025, FA22, will be held tomorrow, September 18, at a distance, slightly larger than the diameter of the lunar orbit,” the statement reads.
It in detail that the spatial object will be at a minimum distance from the planet about 10.00 hours of Moscow (GMT+3).
According to scientists, the average body size is 166 meters, and its length is 290 meters. Its mass is about a thousand times higher than the meteorite of Chelyabinsk.
The latter, which fell in the province of the Los -Urales on February 15, 2013, reached the size of about 19.8 meters. There were no human casualties, but more than 1600 people were injured, 52 of whom were hospitalized.
