Pinterest is taking another step into the future digital commerce. The technology company announced the launch “Pinterest Assistant”an artificial intelligence (AI)-based tool that will function as a personal advisor to help users shop and search online. Its purpose is to make choosing a look or product faster, more visual and more personalized.
AN ASSISTANT THAT “UNDERSTANDS” YOUR STYLE
According to the company, the assistant uses a visual language model – distinct from textual models – capable of recognizing aesthetic patterns and suggesting products based on pins, boards or collages saved by the user. This technology, so-called “Styled for you”allows you to create the perfect outfits for special occasions, such as a date or job interview, and even recommend decorative items or bedding for different seasons.
Experience is added “boards made for you”a feature that offers personalized visual recommendations with audio feedback. Using a microphone, the user can describe what they are looking for, and artificial intelligence creates parameters that reflect their style and needs in real time.
A NEW WAY OF BUYING
Pinterest CEO Bill Reddy said the launch is in response to demand from young people, especially Gen Z, who value the platform “Just understand them”. According to Reddy, the new assistant will strengthen this emotional connection in a way “to help you discover and buy as if you were accompanied by the person who knows you best.”
