Anyone who made it to the decisive moments of Final Fantasy VII Rebirth or faced the extensive fight where the famous “Game Over” had to be seen, could be left with a flea behind the ears. Square Enix used confusing text to guide players, but released a fix for the screen after feedback.

It turns out that the options were not clear whether the player had to restart the fight in the exact part where he was knocked down, at the time of the encounter with the enemy, or the desire was to start the phase from scratch.
The confusion was mainly caused by the “Restart this battle” option presented in the RPG’s final boss. Whoever chose this lost precious minutes, if not hours, returning from the beginning of the battle.
Now, Square Enix has changed each of them so as not to leave fans confused after the tense moments. In the Game Over screen menu, alternate options give you more insight into whether you want to pick up the boss where you left off, or start the encounter from scratch – the latter option is useful for reviewing equipment and strategies.
