Google just turned the feature on in beta for the US Personal intelligence.
You are at the counter of a machine shop. The clerk asks you for your vehicle’s license plate number and the exact tire size. Your mind is empty. This usually means going to the parking lot, looking for documents in the glove compartment, or getting lost in a three-year-old email history. However, Josh Woodward, Vice President of Gemini, solved this problem by asking his AI directly.
Gemini looked at the photo of the license plate saved in his account. Google Photos and obtained the car’s specifications by analyzing old receipts Gmail. This is the core of Art Personal intelligencea new beta feature that Google released today to its premium users in the United States.
Gemini’s vice president says that what he calls “personal intelligence” has two main benefits: reasoning from complex sources and extracting specific details, such as from an email or photo, to answer your question. It often combines these elements and works with text, photos and video to provide unique, personalized responses.
“Since I connected my programs through Personal Intelligence, my daily life has become easier. For example, two weeks ago we needed new tires for ours minivan Honda 2019 While waiting in the shop I realized I didn’t know the tire size so I asked Gemini. Nowadays, any chatbot can find these tire specs, but Gemini went further. He suggested two options, one for daily driving and one for all-weather, with links to our family trips to Oklahoma that I found on Google Photos,” explains Josh Woodward, vice president of Gemini. “Then he carefully pulled out ratings and prices for each. When I got to the counter, I was asked for my license plate. Instead of looking for it or losing my spot in line to get back into the parking lot, I asked the Twins. It extracted a seven-digit number from an image in Photos and also helped me identify a specific truck model using a Gmail search. That’s it, we already had everything ready.”
The vice president also received “great deals on books, shows, clothing and travel.”
“He did a great job planning our upcoming spring break this week. He analyzed our family’s interests and previous trips on Gmail and Photos and avoided tourist traps. Instead, he suggested an overnight train ride and special board games to play along the way,” Woodward said.
AI stops being a know-it-all and becomes an assistant
Until now, language models were experts in the world, but did not know about the user. The Gemini update overcomes this barrier. By connecting the applications of the Google suite with one touch, the assistant gets the opportunity reflections on private sources.

Multimodal recovery: AI can “see” an image of a wine label in your photos and remember that you liked it, or find a PDF of a lost contract in your inbox.
Contextual planning: When you’re planning a trip, Gemini won’t give you a generic listing on TripAdvisor; will review your past trips in Gmail to avoid places you’ve already visited and suggest routes based on your real interests.
Patterns of life: The system can identify trends in your spending or consumption habits by cross-referencing YouTube data and delivery receipts.
