Seoul, March 19 (Yonhap) — Samsung Electronics Co. in 2025 retained leadership in the world market commercial displays for 17 consecutive years, amid efforts to expand its portfolio, the company said this Thursday.

The South Korean tech giant said it will hold 35.2 percent of the market in terms of units sold in 2025, citing a survey by industry tracker Omdia, maintaining its lead after taking the top spot in 2009.

Samsung Electronics said it will sell a record 2.5 million units of commercial displays in 2025, excluding consumer TVs.

The company’s commercial display portfolio includes products such as smart signage and e-paper solutions.

The consistent performance “reflects Samsung’s focus on next-generation signage that combines advanced display hardware with cloud solutions and artificial intelligence (AI) in retail, enterprise, education and hospitality environments,” the company said in a statement.

Samsung Electronics said it will continue efforts to expand its presence in the sector with the launch this year of Samsung Spatial Signage displays, which offer 3D content through screens as thin as 52 millimeters, giving viewers an “exciting visual experience”.

Recently, the company introduced the 13-inch color e-paper Samsung, which has an ultra-thin design with a thickness of 17.9 mm and a weight of 0.9 kilograms.

Kim Hyun-jae, executive vice president of Samsung’s visual display division, said in a statement that they will continue to invest in displays and solutions that help their partners work more efficiently and create better experiences in any space.

The company added that it plans to launch a new AI Studio app next month that “makes it easy to create captioned videos featuring a single product.”
