Honor reaches 10 million smartphones sold in Latin America: how is Peru doing? | ECONOMY

Honor, the mobile technology brand, announced this Friday that it has reached a historic milestone with more than 10 million units sold in more than a dozen Latin American markets.

“The year started off well, with one million units sold in January, and by June, it had already quintupled that figure to over 5 million. In just five months, the brand has shown significant acceleration driven by key markets such as Peru, Mexico and Colombia,” the company detailed.

“Today we celebrate five years in Latin America (…) In 2026, we will increase sales and Honor will transform from a competitor to a leader,” said Kevin Zhu, General Manager of Honor in Latin America.

It should be noted that Peru accounts for 11% of the total number of smartphones sold.

“Peru has been key to this achievement, positioning itself in the top 2 nationally, with annual growth exceeding 20%, offering a wide portfolio across all ranges, including its flagships,” the company detailed.

It should be noted that the first Honor Store opened in Latin America was in Peru.

The growth is attributed to the adoption of models such as the Honor Magic7 Lite and Honor X7c, their battery life and advanced AI features.

For example, Honor Magic7 Lite sold 72% more than its predecessor in the first month, positioning itself as the second best-selling model in its price category in the region.

It should be noted that the technology brand has chosen to regionalize its portfolio, developing exclusive versions for Latin America that are not even available in markets such as China.

This strategy will continue in 2026 with the launch of the Honor Magic8 Lite in the first quarter, which will include a new generation of water and drop.

Innovation

Globally, the company invests 11.5% of its revenue in research and development (R&D), which has enabled significant progress in areas such as silicon-carbon batteries, eye comfort technology, resistance and artificial intelligence.

The brand will continue to integrate solutions from global partners such as Qualcomm and BYD, ensuring that this collaboration will have a direct and positive impact on Latin American consumers.

It also confirmed the launch of the much-anticipated Honor Robot Phone at MWC 2026 in Barcelona.
