All the previous steps you must complete to gain access to the island that hides the secret boss and the battle strategies you must use to defeat him.
Secret bosses could not be absent from the title of the Final Fantasy license, and an old acquaintance that you have encountered in other installments appears again.
We’re talking about the secret boss Gilgamesh, who has previously appeared in other Final Fantasy games and apparently appears in Final Fantasy VII Rebirth as well.
The bad thing is that you have to advance a lot and fulfill a number of requirements to access it, but don’t worry, we’re going to explain everything to you below.
Once you reach him, you will have to face him in a rather difficult fight, but we also give you all the strategies so that you can defeat him even on the first try.
How to find and defeat Final Fantasy VII Rebirth’s secret boss
Well, you need these requirements to stand a chance of facing the super boss Gilgamesh:
- First, you have to find six protomatters: understand that each region has information about different phenomena that will be added to the story, and for each region phenomenon you complete, you will get a protomatter and a new scene with Gilgamesh.
- On the other hand, you have to get all the challenges in Chadli’s virtual reality battle simulator.
- And later, reach Chapter 13, where obtaining the six promatters will open the front door to Gilgamesh Island, on the other side of the sea.
Arrival at Gilgamesh Island
When you get here, you have to harden each of the promaterials, and for that you have to go to the three shrines on the island and face different bosses together.
- Showdowns: Titan and Bahamut.
- Showdowns: Kujata and Phoenix.
- Confrontation: Odin and Alexander.
Once you’ve tempered the promatters in each of the sanctuaries, you can now approach the door to have Gilgamesh let you in.
Showdowns against Gilgamesh
If you’re playing on easy difficulty, this shouldn’t be too difficult, and you won’t really need any special gear for this fight.
In fact, you can even fast travel to a rest bench to recharge your life and magic before battle.
Note that Gilgamesh only deals physical damage and you should equip all your characters with fire material.
For example, you can use Yuffie’s fire ninjutsu, which is great for this fight, or even throw poison.
What you have to do is block his normal attacks and dodge the attacks you can’t block, i.e. the ones marked with a red exclamation mark.
When you take his life, he will inject new attacks, and if his health is very low, he will start with his particular meter, and we recommend that you eliminate him before his meter reaches zero.
