It looks like the Pokemon company has revealed some developments ahead of time.
last month Pokemon Go developer Niantic has revealed the dates for all Community Day events this season. At the time, no information was revealed as to which Pokémon would be the focus, but it has since been revealed that Rowlett and Porygon will appear on January 6th and 20th respectively, while Chancey will appear in the event on February 4th. Oddly enough, that ad has since been removed. This is unusual for the entire season Pokemon Go Community Day announcements are meant to be immediate, so some mistake may have been made. For now, readers should take this with a grain of salt pending the (next) announcement.
Pokemon Legends: Arceus
Of all these announcements, Rowlet is perhaps the least surprising! After all, this season is Timeless Travels, and the game focuses on elements that appeared in Pokemon Legends: Arceus. Rowlet was one of three starter Pokemon available in this game, along with Oshawott and Cyndaquil. All three of these Pokemon had unique final evolutions in the game that debut in the Pokemon Go during time travel. Hisuian Samurott appeared during the Raid Day event on December 3rd, and it seems likely that the game will do the same for Hisuian Typhlosion and Hisuian Decidueye. Unfortunately, no additional details have been revealed at this time.
In addition to these three Hisuian variants, Timeless Travels will debut at least two new Pokémon. Wyrdeer is an evolved form of Stantler that first appeared in Pokemon Legends: Arceus. This season will not focus solely on the Hisui region; the game’s current loading screen also revealed that Drampa is coming soon. Drumpa’s green and white dragon first appeared in the Pokemon sun and moon.
Catch the skill

In addition to Community Day shows, Pokemon Go also announced a new Catch Mastery event coming up this weekend. The event will begin on December 9 at 10 am local time and will continue until 8 pm local time. Catch Mastery will focus on Ice-types, with Snorunt and Bergmite more common in the wild. Cryogonal will also be a big focus, and players can expect to see this when they complete the Field Research tasks. Shiny versions of all three of these Pokemon will appear more frequently during the event, adding an extra incentive to participate.
During the event, players can also look forward to special timed research that will focus on catching Ice-type Pokemon. There will be 10 sets of research tasks to complete, and players who complete them all will encounter 40 cryoguns. This sounds like a great way for players to increase their chances of finding a Shiny!
