In this first episode of Redagrícola On The Road Chile, we enter the Research and Innovation Center of Concha y Toro Viña, an important project aimed at increasing the competitiveness of the wine industry in Chile.
In this area of more than 1500 m2 in the heart of the Maule Valley, Chile’s main wine region, we learned firsthand about the vineyard’s various innovative projects in terms of developing bio-inputs and, in addition, we visited the Center’s main research laboratories.
The Concha y Toro Viña Research and Innovation Center is a space that has proven itself as a generator of knowledge and new technologies, as well as a meeting place and exchange between winegrowers and researchers.
During the tour, we interviewed Dr. Felipe Gaines, Head of Research and Development in Molecular Biology at the Concha y Toro Center for Research and Innovation, who told us about the successes achieved by the CII, particularly his focus on adapting the industry and its vineyards to climate change.
