Run overheating PS5s from -wit design lack, says Game Dev

Seem Ps5S continues to suffer from a problem with liquid metal that kills the console in a few years. This is especially true of the launch of consoles and consoles that are installed vertically.

In the recent episode Moore Law – Dead Broken Silicon Podcast, Matthew Cassels, founder of Alderon Games, discusses previously reported PS5 Liquid Metal release. In particular, he found that if the console is placed vertically, the liquid metal, which is installed between the processor and the radiator used for cooling, can be traced. In turn, this can cause dry spots on the accelerated processing block (APU) and cause overheating.

Cassells considered the question when Alderon Games started receiving feedback from its community for their MMO Titan Path, where players reported that the console was suddenly closed during the game. He found that more demanding games were more likely to cause the problem.

This has been going on for many years. As early as 2023, repair shops began to shed light on the problem of liquid metal. Then, at the end of the tail 2024, Sony seemed potentially fixing the problem by adding the ridge to the radiator block to help evenly place the liquid metal. This was confirmed in your own SPYMAND video for Sony for PS5 Pro, where they mentioned, adding grooves to where liquid metal is used.

While this may not be a problem for each PS5 owner, it seems that the potential is, especially for those who have console since launching in 2020. Who is experiencing that this question can arise from their console, probably simply sets it horizontally when they have funds.
