A few weeks ago, the PlayStation 5 celebrated its anniversary third anniversary. As a result of aspects like COVID-19 and the supply and semiconductor crisis, it took the company almost three years to leave the stock problems. Since then, the Japanese firm has released such devices as PlayStation portalintended for remote use of PlayStation 5 games, and a PS5 review with subtle aesthetics. And thus, Sony’s goal after saying goodbye to its problems and welcoming new devices is clear: to have the most successful and profitable console in its history.
Using this intent, Hideaki Nishina (Senior Vice President of Platform Experience at Sony Interactive Entertainment) made recent statements to Nikkei Asia (reports the portal technical point), in which he delved into the future of the company. As he himself notes, the Japanese company is ready “attack everything this holiday season with both content and hardware.” And, along with that, he also noted that they are on the right track to selling 25 million consoles during the current fiscal year. However, the most interesting thing about his statements was his vision regarding how can ps5 compete with pc.
It is more convenient to play on a console than on a computer
According to Nishin, there is a PlayStation 5 better to play it’s a system that’s “easier to set up for people who are just interested in playing without worrying about the details.” So this PlayStation exec believes that one of his console’s strengths over the PC is, aside from price, its relative simple which can be played without worrying about settings. In addition, it also highlights that names such as Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 already have taking advantage of to features like fast boot, so he assures Sony isn’t worried about a hypothetical PS5 Pro.
However, his statements sparked an interesting debate in the gaming community. While it’s clear that the PS5 is easier on the PC and thus more practical to play, PCs offer an opportunity upgrade equipment with the intention of improving their benefits. So, despite the fact that the devices are more expensive, they are also more interesting for fans of hardware and gaming experiences that go to the next level, such as the story of a player who spent €8,000 to show evidence. However, Nishino confirmed that Sony is very happy with the direction of the console and its immediate future.
